Do you manage events?

No. To keep things breezy, we provide rental, set-up and pack-down only—we don’t manage run-sheets, vendors or schedules.

Which beaches do you service?

All Waiheke beaches (safe conditions permitting). Onetangi delivery is included; other beaches are a flat NZ$100.

What’s included in every package?

Labour + full set-up & pack-down • Deck chairs • Fresh towels • Chilly bins.

Choose your package first. Boards & kayaks, games, platters, tees/caps are selected during checkout.

How do extras work?
Set-up timing
  • Operating season: 1 Nov – 30 Apr

  • Set-ups: 9:00 am – 6:00 pm (flexible by arrangement)

  • Contact: 8:30 am – 8:00 pm (in-season by phone/email). Off-season: via website and email only.

Season & hours

We aim to be in place 15–30 minutes before your start time.

Payments & refunds

Payment at checkout (Stripe). Refunds typically appear within 5–10 business days (your bank).

Weather

If the forecast turns bad or conditions are unsafe, we’ll reschedule or refund—simple and fair.

Permits

If your gathering needs council permission for public spaces, the customer is responsible for obtaining it.

Safety—watercraft

Lifejackets are provided and must be worn. Under-15s require adult supervision. Use boards/kayaks to your ability and conditions.

BBQs & alcohol

Be aware of Auckland Council bylaws on alcohol in public spaces. Enclosed gas BBQs allowed; no open fires.

Booking Terms

1) Parties & definitions

You” the customer/organiser. “We/Us” Waiheke Beach Rentals / Beach Bum Investments Limited. A “Booking” is any confirmed package/extras via our online system.

2) Booking & payment

  • Bookings are made online (Rezdy). Prices in NZD.

  • Payment at checkout (Stripe). A booking is confirmed once you receive our confirmation email.

  • A refundable bond of NZ$500 may be pre-authorised/charged to cover damage/loss; released after gear is returned in good order.

3) Delivery, access & fees

  • Onetangi delivery included.

  • Other beaches: flat NZ$100.

  • Difficult access surcharge NZ$80 applies if carrying distance exceeds ~200 m from parking to set-up location and/or steep stairs.

  • We’ll contact you if a beach is unsuitable on the day and help arrange an alternative spot.

4) Changes, cancellations & weather

  • Your change (bad weather): Unlimited free reschedules within the same season (Nov–Apr), or a refund if you prefer.

  • Your change (other reasons): We’ll try to reschedule, subject to availability.

  • Our call (safety/operations): We may cancel or adjust due to unsafe weather (e.g., sustained winds >25 km/h, heavy rain, thunder, dangerous swell) or events beyond our control. You may choose a full refund or a new date.

  • No-shows / late arrival: If you don’t arrive during your booked window and we can’t reach you, the booking will be forfeited to cover labour/logistics already incurred.

5) Timing overruns

  • Late pack-down: NZ$75 per 30 minutes.

6) Equipment care, loss & cleaning

  • Normal wear is on us. Loss or damage beyond fair use may be charged at replacement cost (we don’t publish item prices).

  • Excessive cleaning (e.g., food/paint/oil) may incur a reasonable cleaning fee.

7) Safety & use

  • Follow our team’s instructions and local lifeguard advice/bylaws.

  • We may decline or stop service if conditions are unsafe.

8) Permits & site permissions

  • You are responsible for any council/site permissions needed for your chosen location and gathering size.

9) Force majeure

  • We’re not liable for delays or non-performance caused by events beyond our control (e.g., severe weather, closures). If we cancel, we’ll refund or reschedule promptly.

10) Consumer rights (NZ)

Nothing in these Terms limits your rights under the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993 and Fair Trading Act 1986—services must be provided with reasonable skill and care and match what’s advertised.

We use trusted providers to deliver our services, including Rezdy (booking/checkout) and Stripe (payments). They receive only what’s needed to perform their services and apply appropriate security measures.

Security & retention

We take reasonable steps to keep information secure, and retain it only as long as required for the purposes above and to meet legal/financial record requirements.

Your rights

You can access and request correction of your personal information. Contact info@waihekebeachrentals.co.nz with “Privacy” in the subject.

Marketing

We send marketing emails only if you opt-in; you can unsubscribe anytime.

Analytics & cookies

We use Google Analytics to understand site usage. Cookies help the site and booking widget function. You can block cookies in your browser, but parts of the site may not work as intended.

International transfers

Some providers may store/process data overseas. We take reasonable steps to ensure comparable safeguards.
